A philanthropic project by Bay Area Prabasi to fund 2 institutes of agriculture and 8 rural development training institutes in West Bengal.
Rooted in the Soil, Reaching for the Future
For rural and tribal people, the RKMEF education fund runs 2 institutes of agriculture and 8 rural development training institutes in West Bengal. Besides, farmers are taught improved methods of cultivation and are also provided with agricultural inputs and financial help.
Projects such as the construction of toilets and pucca houses, wasteland development, holding farmers’ fairs, soil testing, planting of fruit and forest trees, etc, are actively undertaken. Drinking water is provided by digging borewells and tube wells. Bay Area Prabasi is raising funds this year to continue to drive this crucial work in rural Bengal in partnership with RKMEF.

Transforming barren and arid regional sites into highly cultivable fields via intensive soil enrichment programs and contour terracing.
Farmers' Fairs & Expos
Organizing regional exhibitions and agricultural symposiums for sharing knowledge, testing soil quality, and distributing modern tools.

Active ecological restoration and livelihood enhancement by planting thousands of native forest species and nutritional fruit trees.
