Catastrophic Regional Impact & Mobilization
Several thousand people have been left homeless as the last decade’s most powerful cyclone, **Amphan**, devastated India and Bangladesh. Cyclone Amphan killed at least 96 people, officials said after it swept in from the Bay of Bengal.
Bay Area Prabasi has quickly mobilized a dedicated team of on-site volunteers partnering with the local youth organizations and spiritual organizations of the affected regions to help people through this severe crisis.

Hooghly Region Relief Deployment
In the first phase, Bay Area Prabasi has directly supported the affected citizens in the Hooghly region by distributing structural Tarpaulins for makeshift shelters or to patch leaking roofs, alongside distributing cooked nutritious foods and drinking water.
Sundarban Ramkrishna Ashram Partnership
In the second phase, we are partnering directly with the Local Ramkrishna Ashram in Sunderban to help residents of Chandanpiri and Deulbari (Sundarban)—the two remote coastal areas which got almost completely erased and left 200+ families without shelter with severe monsoons rapidly approaching.
