Durga Puja 2016
Durga Puja - our annual grand event for which we wait all year round is here again. This year we have two major changes in our Durga Puja festival.
- A brand new Durga Protima from Kolkata. This was purchased recently from one of the most reputed artists from Kumartuli, Koltata.
- A new bigger location in San Jose, at Santa Clara Fairgrounds.
We are celebrating the long awaited Durga Puja on October 7th, 8th and 9th, 2016 at Santa Clara Fairgrounds in San Jose, CA. You are invited to join us.

As usual we have many professional programs lined up for you, as well as some splendid local programs brought to you by hard-working and talented local artists. We have a day of Bollywood artists and another day of Kolkata artists - to make your festival as joyful and rythmic as can be.
And for those who have visited us before, you know the variety of stalls we have at our mandap. The food is simply irresistable and the shopping experience unparalleled.

You can park only at designated areas within the Santa Clara County Fairgounds. The map below gives the parking spots available to Durga Puja visitors. Parking is EASY and CONVENIENT for you inside the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. You don't have to cross the road. At Gate D on Monterey Road our traffic directors will be there to guide you to the designated parking areas. Please come to the registration booth at the entrance of Pujo hall to collect your permits..

Kushal Paul - Winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa

Kushal Paul belongs to Bengali family. He hails from Kolkata. At the age of 17, he started playback singing. He is a musician by profession. His only idol is Bob Marley, not just for his music but for his philosophy of life.He has a very special bond with his mother who encourages his singing talent.He gives all credit to whatever he is today to his parents who always support him any situation.He wants to make them proud by winning the show.His dream is to buy a house in Los Angeles, which we think he soon will!He truly impressed the audience with his beautiful smile, amazing confidence and dedication towards his work.
As a Winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – He became the winner of the singing reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, which aired on Zee TV. This show featured Sajid Ali, Wajid Ali, Pritam Chakraborty and Mika Singh as Mentors.His best moment on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2016 was singing Mone pore Ruby Roy in front of Asha Bhosle and talking to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar on Ashaji’s phone.
Long before Kushal became the Champion of Zee TV’s 2016 SaReGaMaPa, one of television’s most popular musical reality shows, Kushal had won the hearts of many through his voice when he was announced as the joint winner of 2012 SaReGaMaPa, the Bengali version of the show on Zee Bangla. Kushal Paul has the wonderful gift from God – his melodious voice. His music has the intensity to explode on stage! He has the power that rushes your adrenalin through the various numbers he delivers. He is a versatile singer. Since he became the winner of 2012 SaReGaMaPa, he has never looked back and continues to enthrall the audience with his voice, most recently at the 2016 reality show where he received heaps of praises from stalwart music directors like Pritam Chakraborty, Sajid-Wajid and celebrated singers like Mika Singh, Kailash Kher and others. Kushal will present and perform songs of different genres of Indian music through the ages...from Bengali songs to Bollywood music, from folk to fusion, from old classic numbers to new chartbusters, Sufi, Qawwali and more. He is a versatile singer and can perform such variety with equal élan. The coming together of such diversity would be an amazing cultural and musical experience for any audience.

In this upcoming US tour this group will perform and present a unique production, “Joy Hok” (Win we will), a celebration of Bengali music saluting great composers of then and now. They will present different genres of Bengali music through the ages. The coming together of such diversity would be an amazing cultural and musical experience for any audience.
Joy Sarkar is a household name among lovers of Bengali music across the world He started his career as a guitarist accompanying music legends of yesteryears like Arati Mukherjee, Pratima Banerjee, Utpala Sen and V. Balsara. Apart from being an outstanding guitarist, he is one of the most prolific and popular composers of contemporary Bengali music and Bengali film songs. His compositions have been sung by all leading vocalists of Bengal as well as Mumbai. He has also been the judge of popular music shows including Sa Re Ga Ma Pa which is hugely popular in India.
Paroma Mitra (maiden name Banerji) is a name to reckon with, in the arena of music in Bengal and beyond. As a vocalist she has created a distinctive style of enunciation of Indian classical music, songs of Rabindranath Tagore and contemporary original songs of various composers. Her versatility makes her an ideal participant in this production.
Sujoy Bhowmik is a well-known playback singer of the Bengali film industry Sujoy’s musical journey started in childhood but he got his first break in playback singing in 2007 for the film “Chander Bari”. Then there was no looking back. Since 2007, he has done playback singing in more than 70 Bengali films under eminent music composers such as Mrinal Banerjee, Ajoy Das, Debojyoti Mishra, Joy Sarkar and Indradeep Dasgupta. Recently Sujoy sang a duet with the legendary Asha Bhonsle.
The musicians in this group, Soumik Guha (keyboard/harmonium), Sabuj Mukherjee (Octopad), Sankha Subhra Ghosh (bass guitar) and Joydeb Nandy (drums/percussion/tabla) are very accomplished and have shared the stage and performed with many celebrated names.

Keka Ghoshal is one of the brightest names in the field of Indian Bollywood music. She is trained in Indian classical music but she can sing different genres of Indian music including but not limited to Indian folk, Rabindra sangeet and also popular Bollywood songs with equal élan. Appearing first on the music scene in 2005 through the SaReGaMaPa Challenge, she now sings regularly for TV shows, films and commercials. She has performed in live shows and accompanied other musical greats such as Shaan and Abhijeet as female vocalist in various concerts in India and all over the world.
