Prabasi would like to remind you Durga Puja starts this Saturday Oct 15
and goes on till Sunday Oct 16 at Chabot College, Hayward. Join us in
the Durga Puja fervour with the beating of dhaak,  call of the conch
shell, the incense of dhuno and the mammoth flow of humanity flocking
in to the pandal decked in their best sarees and punjabis. Yes friends,
that special week-end of the year is here.

FASHION SHOW

Bengalis dress their finest during Durga Puja -- from Dhakai sarees to
Tangail silk, from Toshore to exquisite Katha work, men in dhutis,
embroidered kurtas and other trendy apparel. When there is such
abundance of beauty and fashion strolling around, why not have a
fashion show? Prabasi invites members from ALL AGE GROUPS to join us in
an out-door fashion show on Sunday, Oct 16 at 1:00 pm. This is your
chance to dress in your finest and show it off on stage.

ABHIJEET'S VISA

We are having some problem procuring Abhijeet's visa because of new
strict rules and regulations. Therefore, there is a chance that
Abhijeet may not be able to reach here by next Saturday. We will try to
reschedule his program to Sunday, or if even that is not possible, to
sometime later this month. Therefore we have temporarily suspended
selling Abhijeet's tickets. We will update the website on any further
changes. We are still trying to secure the visa. If you have already
purchased the ticket and the program is cancelled, your money will be
refunded. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience caused and will
make up for it later this year.

Durga Puja, the most endearing festival of Bengalis, brings back old
memories and makes new ones. It is your time to socialize, renew old
bonds or just indulge in adda. We are all eagerly awaiting to see you
there.
