BY-LAWS AMENDMENT
=================

Bay Area Prabasi's By-laws and Article of Incorporation was created in
1981. It is time for us to draft a new constitution to reflect the
need of our community, which has changed both demographically and
culturally since last 20 years.

In this regard we are forming a Constitution Committee and in case you
would like to participate in this historic process please contact
Surajit Sengupta at surajit_sen_gupta@yahoo.com
by Jan31st. The new constitution will be presented to the members
during the next General Body meeting which will be sometime in the
last week of May. This day will also be our Annual Day.

ELECTION
========

Shompa Bhattacharya our able director will finish her three years term
on June 30th 2004. We have a position open in our eleven-member board.
We will have the general body meeting and the election of new officers
during the Annual Day. The Board has decided to hold the election
during our last event, which is appropriate since we can dedicate one
day for all our policy discussion and the future of Prabasi. The newly
elected board needs to start from July 1st (which is the beginning of
our fiscal year).

Sincerely,

- Anupam Bagchi
Prabasi Webmaster
